Childbirth Education & Breastfeeding Classes
Childbirth Education Classes Offered at our Clinic, Friday evening 6pm-9pm and Saturday 9am-2pm once per month.
Breastfeeding Classes offered at our Clinic Saturday 8am-9am.
Our instructor's qualifications:
Janet Grabe, RN, has been a nurse since 1984 and was the top academic graduate of Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in her class. She was nominated twice for Maternal-Child Nurse of the Year in the state of Hawaii, worked in L&D many years, worked in Mom-Baby Unit few years and was a DONA-Approved Birth Doula & Trainer. She holds several certifications, including a Prepared Childbirth Instructor (through ICEA) for 18 years.
She has a unique sense of humor and gift for teaching which helps her students learn while they have fun! She is happily married to James Grabe, Dean of Provo College and is originally from Hawaii. She began as an RN in L&D at Kapiolani Medical Center, where they have the 9th most births in the US at 7,000 per year. She was honored by being nominated twice for Maternal-Child Nurse of the Year. She was a Level III RN and also became the Medical Center's Bereavement Coordinator. As such, it was her privilege to conduct 3-day workshops of Bereavement Counselors and also train all new L&D nurses. She dearly loves attending births as a Doula for many years, however, now she is delighting in taking good care of our patients at Mt. Timpanogos Women's Health Care, not only doing triage, but teaching the childbirth education classes there.
If you have any questions about the class or want to registered, please e-mail her at BirthMiracles@earthlink.net. She responds quickly to e-mails.
